Local Molesey-based property and mortgage expert Mary Waring, 46, is entering the London Marathon, which takes place on Sunday 26 April and plans to raise £1,500 as a minimum for the charity, Shelter, to support the homeless. Mary is also treasurer of local women’s networking group, Elmbridge Women in Business (EWiB).

It’s Mary’s second attempt to enter the London Marathon. Last year she had a place, but broke her ankle. “I was in plaster for six weeks and still on crutches at the time of the Marathon, but they kindly carried my place over to this year. Since I make my living from the property business, it seemed appropriate to support Shelter.”

She has embarked on a strenuous training regime to get ready for the 26 mile run. She alternates running with cycle classes at the gym and does two agility classes a week with her dog Barney “which gives me some sprinting exercise trying to keep up with him – as he’s a fit, young English Springer spaniel with more speed and energy than me! So it’s excellent training keeping up with him,” she says.

Mary has recently launched a new web site focusing on buy to let property with tips and advice – www.marywaring.co.uk . It offers a free monthly newsletter. If you register, you will receive a free download buy to let calculator to help you analyse the profit you can make from property.
She says “Despite the recession, there are some excellent opportunities in the buy to let market. I offer a complete service from finding the property to managing it.”
