Dear Ladies

Firstly, I would like to introduce myself.

My name is Leonie Wright from EatWright and at the last AGM I have been chosen to be the new Chair of EWIB.

The other committee members are Rosemary Hemmett from Account-Wise, Diana Jordan from Dealing with Divorce and Sonia Duggen from Coaching with Inspiration.

Secondly, I would like to thank the leaving committee members Sarah and Catherine, and especially Sandy, for their contribution to EWIB.We appreciate all the work you have done.

There are some exciting times ahead for EWIB and in order to make it more viable the following changes have been made:-

There will be FREE Membership of EWIB with just a £15 admin fee to put your profile on our website. This is a great way to promote you business and to get in touch with other members.

The meeting fee will be £15 for anyone attending and there are no limits on who can attend or how often they can come. The meeting fee will include our very popular hot buffet as at present.

We have changed our pricing policy to attract new members and visitors but in addition to this, I am delighted to confirm that we have decided to work with Fabulous Women and will be their representative in the Elmbridge area. We will continue to welcome women from other networking groups and with our new meeting price, everyone will pay the same fee.

We see the short term future for EWiB as an independent body working together with Fabulous Women for the benefit of all women in Elmbridge and the surrounding area. It brings together the reputation of EWiB as being a long standing, trusted organisation and the freshness and vitality of Fabulous Women. If this arrangement works for both parties, then maybe it can continue in the long term. This arrangement avoids competition between two groups that are basically trying to achieve the same goals – supporting, inspiring and developing women and their businesses.

The meetings at the Ship will have the same format as before with opportunities to network and developmental talks for you and your business. Our partnership with Fabulous Women gives us the opportunities to provide additional support and you can learn more via their website:- http://www.fabulous-women.co.uk/

Fabulous Women has special offers available for joining as follows:

Attending Fabulous Women Netwinning groups or events will be £10 for a light breakfast and coffee or tea.

As a special offer the Inspirer Membership of £ 300 is available if you join before 31 May 2012 ( normal price is £ 425).

Exclusivity in your region will be guaranteed because there is only ONE Inspirer Member per business type per region available.

If you are interested in joining Fabulous Women please do let me or Paullette know. Paullette can be contacted on: paullette@fabulouswomen.co.uk

For details of the proposed upcoming events – please do have a look at our home page for further details.

Warmest Wishes

Leonie Wright

I am delighted to tell you and all EWiB ladies that one of my exclusive speakers, Dame Stella Rimington DCB MA, is the guest speaker at this year’s “Women of Our Time Luncheon” on Friday 4th November.

Longstanding EWiB members will recall that Dame Stella accepted our invitation to speak at the EWiB Annual Dinner some years ago. Since then, she has published a number of thrillers which have reached the best-seller list. All her thrillers have a central – female – MI5 character. She speaks internationally on a wide range of topics and is one of DBA Speakers’ most-requested speakers.

This prestigious annual event, organised by the Princess Alice Hospice, takes place at Epsom Racecourse. The Lunch attracts ladies from all over Surrey and the tickets sell out within weeks. With Dame Stella as the guest speaker, they may sell out within just days.

Dame Stella Rimington worked in all the main fields of the Service’s responsibilities – counter-subversion, counter-espionage and counter-terrorism – becoming successively Director of all three branches. She was appointed Director General in 1992, the first woman to take the post and the first Director General to be publicly named. She retired in April 1996. She is also, famously, the role model for Dame Judi Dench’s character “M” in the James Bond 007 films.

Dame Stella’s books will be on sale and she will sign copies purchased at the lunch. In addition, DBA Speakers will give a percentage of all books sold as a further donation to the fundraising of the Princess Alice Hospice.

As well as a lovely lunch in a wonderful setting and Dame Stella’s speech, there will be a variety of stalls selling a range of gorgeous gifts and goodies at all price ranges … just in time for Christmas.

It’s an excellent day out, so come along and bring your friends. Tickets cost just £50 each and are available via houghtonmary@hotmail.com or telephone 01372 456284.

All good wishes for the continuing success of EWiB,

Diana Boulter
